Focus Mode lets you concentrate on a single branch of a large outline by "drilling into" one item so the detail view shows only that item and its subtree.
Entering Focus Mode
Open an item's context menu → Focus on Item. The detail view now renders that item at the top level, with its children below it.
Navigating While Focused
A breadcrumb bar appears at the top of the outline while focused:
- Tap Back (chevron) to pop out one level.
- Tap any earlier crumb in the trail to jump directly to that level.
- Tap the outline's title in the breadcrumb to return to the full outline.
You can focus deeper by choosing Focus on Item again on a child — each level is added to the breadcrumb trail.
Adding Items in Focus Mode
While focused, the toolbar + button adds a new child of the focused item rather than a top-level sibling, since a sibling would fall outside the focused subtree. Pressing Return on the focused root item does not create a sibling either; descendants of the root can still create siblings normally.
Leaving Focus Mode
Return to the full outline via the breadcrumb's title, or back out one level at a time with the Back button. Focus state is not saved — reopening the outline later starts unfocused.
